Although the shock value of this photo is high, I did not take this photo for that reason.  As I walked by this child twice before deciding to "violate" his privacy by taking a picture, I watched many Cambodian people make a small donation, rub his head (which I couldn't bring myself to do), and say a small prayer for the family.  I was touched by the peacefullness and beauty of this malformed child, and wanted to try and capture this.  However, it just ended up looking like a picture of a freak show.  This is one of the most disturbing things I've seen anywhere, and the plight of this young child and his family, as well as the haunting, pure beauty of him, is still my heart two days later
